Cash will go to new scout hut

A SCOUT group that is mark­ing its 110th an­niver­sary this year is also plan­ning ahead for the fu­ture.

Mem­bers of he Third Up­ton Pri­ory Scouts are try­ing to col­lect the £60,000 needed to have a new Scout hut built as the cur­rent one is in a poor state of re­pair.

They will be hold­ing a fundrais­ing quiz night at Mot­tram Vil­lage Hall on Jan­uary 19 and ahead of this have re­ceived a wel­come boost.

Audi Mac­cles­field has do­nated a se­lec­tion of prizes for the event, to add to ones al­ready handed over by Mot­tram Hall, Shrigley Hall and from Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Cath Har­land, from the Third Up­ton Pri­ory Scouts, said: “With­out the sup­port from Audi Mac­cles­field and their ded­i­cated staff team, in par­tic­u­lar the head of busi­ness Tom Kout­savakis and Matt Len­non the sales man­ager, this amaz­ing prize draw would not be pos­si­ble in help­ing raise the £60,000 tar­get that is re­quired.”
