Franchise firm scoop double award
THERE was double delight for a Macclesfieldbased franchise at its parent company’s award ceremony.
Metro Rod Manchester, located on the Adlington Industrial Estate, Macclesfield, was named winner at the firm’s franchise of the year award.
And staff member Nick Broadbent also took home the engineer of the year award.
The event was held at the Celtic Manor Resort, in Newport, and involved the 41 Metro Rod regional depots from across the UK.
The company provides drain and plumbing services.
Managing directors at the Adlington site Graeme and Avril Stevenson collected the award.
They said: “We would just like to thank our team, both engineers and our operational department for all of the hard work they put in to making our business work.
“Without them, we really couldn’t have achieved this.
“It’s a very proud day for us both and the rest of the team should be proud of what they’ve helped achieve.
“Here’s to another fantastic year.”
Peter Molloy, Metro Rod’s national managing director, said: “Graeme and Avril have delivered exceptional levels of service during the last year which has resulted in spectacular growth in sales and in the size of their business.
“I am personally delighted for them, they are exactly the type of franchisees we want in our business.
“They embrace the support from the franchisor while using their own entrepreneurial skills to build a great business in their territory”.
Metro Rod Manchester covers Macclesfield and Cheshire as well as Stockport and central and south Manchester.
