Elves on the run to raise funds

STAFF at a Mac­cles­field firm got in the Christ­mas spirit as they raised money for a wor­thy cause.

A team from Di­rect Food In­gre­di­ents, based at Wa­ters Green, took part in an elf run in aid of Chil­dren’s can­cer char­ity the Joshua Tree. The event took place at Roker Park, in North­wich, and was two kilo­me­tres long.

Among those that donned elf out­fits and ears were Harry Nes­bit, Sofia Chinea, Tom Mayer, Penny Wood­ward, and Steve Loake, as well as Steve’s son Joseph.

Staff have been rais­ing money for the Joshua Tree, based in North­wich, as their cho­sen char­ity through­out 2018 and the to­tal now stands at around £3,900.

Other ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude tak­ing part in a Tough Mud­der event and the North­wich Dragon Boat Race as well as bake sales and swimath­ons.

Steve, Di­rect Food In­gre­di­ents’s man­ag­ing di­rec­tor, said: “We un­der­stand how im­por­tant the Joshua Tree’s ser­vices are and have been so proud to raise aware­ness of the cause.

“I would like to say thank you to all of the team who have taken part or do­nated, the funds will sup­port this much-loved char­ity so it can con­tinue its won­der­ful work.”
