£1,500 is Arighi’s gift to special school

-

A CHARITY Christmas market at a Macclesfield store raised money to help refurbish a Macclesfield special school’s hydrotherapy pool.

There was music and stalls selling clothes, jewellery, cakes and gifts at the cafe bar at Arighi Bianchi, in Macclesfield town centre.

It raised £1,500 that has been donated to Park Lane Special School.

Headteacher Lorraine Warmer, said: “We’re delighted that Arighi Bianchi chose to raise money for our school, and thrilled that we can put the donation towards our pool.

“It’s such an important facility for our children, helping them with confidence in the water and improving their physical strength, as well as being lots of fun.”

The charity event was organised by Cath Barlow and Linda Dunn, both staff at the store.

Cath said: “Two of our colleagues have children at the school and we wanted to help with their fundraising.

“We organised a Christmas shopping event, it was a great way to kick start Christmas.”

The school is looking to raise £100,000 in total.
