£1,500 is Arighi’s gift to spe­cial school

A CHAR­ITY Christ­mas mar­ket at a Mac­cles­field store raised money to help re­fur­bish a Mac­cles­field spe­cial school’s hy­drother­apy pool.

There was mu­sic and stalls sell­ing clothes, jew­ellery, cakes and gifts at the cafe bar at Arighi Bianchi, in Mac­cles­field town cen­tre.

It raised £1,500 that has been do­nated to Park Lane Spe­cial School.

Head­teacher Lor­raine Warmer, said: “We’re de­lighted that Arighi Bianchi chose to raise money for our school, and thrilled that we can put the do­na­tion to­wards our pool.

“It’s such an im­por­tant fa­cil­ity for our chil­dren, help­ing them with con­fi­dence in the wa­ter and im­prov­ing their phys­i­cal strength, as well as be­ing lots of fun.”

The char­ity event was or­gan­ised by Cath Bar­low and Linda Dunn, both staff at the store.

Cath said: “Two of our col­leagues have chil­dren at the school and we wanted to help with their fundrais­ing.

“We or­gan­ised a Christ­mas shop­ping event, it was a great way to kick start Christ­mas.”

The school is look­ing to raise £100,000 in to­tal.
