Special concert with students raises £1,300 for armed services charity
MACCLESFIELD Male Voice Choir handed over money raised at a concert to Help For Heroes.
The group had performed with staff and students from Fallibroome Academy for a concert to commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War.
And choir chairman Henry Newton handed over the £1,375 collected for the charity.
As part of its ongoing charitable programme in the community, the choir has also entertained residents in care homes and held its annual Christmas concert at Langley Methodist Church.
It also took part in a festive concert at Tatton Park.
A programme is already in place for 2019, with the annual gala concert on April 27 and an appear- ance at the Bollington Festival in May among the highlights.
Macclesfield Male Voice Choir will also compete at the International Festival in the Isle of Man in October.
New members are welcome. The group rehearses at Broken Cross Methodist Church on Mondays from 7.30pm.
Tickets for performances can be booked by calling 01625 429403 or at tickets@macclesfieldmvc. org.uk.
