Teenager at­tacked and robbed in street

A TEENAGE boy was left se­ri­ously in­jured af­ter he was chased, at­tacked and robbed on a Mac­cles­field street.

The 16-year-old was chased by a gang on Foun­tain Street on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 17, at around 2am.

When the group caught up with him they stole his mo­bile phone and at­tacked him caus­ing a se­ri­ous in­jury to his face.

The vic­tim was taken to Mac­cles­field Hos­pi­tal by am­bu­lance and has since been re­leased.

Po­lice have ap­pealed for wit­nesses to the ‘nasty’ at­tack.

De­tec­tive Sergeant Matt Ash­ton, of Mac­cles­field CID, said: “We are con­tin­u­ing to piece to­gether ex­actly what hap­pened dur­ing the early hours and how the teenager came to suf­fer a nasty at­tack.

“I am ap­peal­ing di­rectly to the lo­cal com­mu­nity to come for­ward with any in­for­ma­tion – no mat­ter how small which could help us iden­tify those re­spon­si­ble.”
