Fundrais­ing fit­ness team cel­e­brate 5 years

A FIT­NESS in­struc­tor has cel­e­brated five years of own­ing her own busi­ness - dur­ing which time her mem­bers have raised £20,000 for char­ity.

Carla Gilder be­gan as a per­sonal trainer 16 years ago, based out of Bolling­ton Scout Hut.

But in De­cem­ber 2013 she took the big step of start­ing Carla Gilder Fit­ness, which is now based at Brook Street, in Mac­cles­field.

Dur­ing this time her team has ex­panded from two to nine in­struc­tors, many of whom be­gan sim­ply as mem­bers be­fore be­com­ing qual­i­fied.

Over the last five years there has also been £10,000 raised for East Cheshire Hos­pice, as well as the same amount for oth­ers char­i­ties such as Chil­dren in Need and Cancer Re­search.

Events have in­cluded fam­ily fun days, glow par­ties, and cof­fee morn­ings, and mem­bers have com­pleted the Lon­don Marathon.

All of this was cel­e­brated with a mas­quer­ade party at the venue it all be­gan at – Bolling­ton Scout Hut.

The evening in­cluded the busi­ness’s an­nual awards cer­e­mony, as well as en­ter­tain­ment and food.

Di­a­betes UK and the Bri­tish Heart Foun­da­tion will be among next year’s cho­sen char­i­ties.
