Fundraising fitness team celebrate 5 years

-

A FITNESS instructor has celebrated five years of owning her own business - during which time her members have raised £20,000 for charity.

Carla Gilder began as a personal trainer 16 years ago, based out of Bollington Scout Hut.

But in December 2013 she took the big step of starting Carla Gilder Fitness, which is now based at Brook Street, in Macclesfield.

During this time her team has expanded from two to nine instructors, many of whom began simply as members before becoming qualified.

Over the last five years there has also been £10,000 raised for East Cheshire Hospice, as well as the same amount for others charities such as Children in Need and Cancer Research.

Events have included family fun days, glow parties, and coffee mornings, and members have completed the London Marathon.

All of this was celebrated with a masquerade party at the venue it all began at – Bollington Scout Hut.

The evening included the business’s annual awards ceremony, as well as entertainment and food.

Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation will be among next year’s chosen charities.
