Desire to play has Campbell purring

-

SOL Campbell has praised his Macclesfield Town players for the effort and commitment they have shown in training and on the pitch in recent weeks.

Campbell has been at the club for around a month now, and in their last two league games Macc have picked up four points and kept two clean sheets.

The improvements have pleased Campbell, with the side now just three points adrift from safety at the bottom of the League Two table.

The latest clean sheet came on Saturday when the Silkmen drew 0-0 at home to Port Vale.

“It’s great we got another clean sheet but the good thing is that they are wanting to play good football as well,” he said.

“They’re trying to find those areas and they’re playing it at the right time. They’re making good decisions and that’s what it’s all about.

“They’re defending right and then playing at the right time. The lads are really training hard and that point could make the difference at the end of the season.

“For us it’s all about development and making sure we keep on doing the right things in training. We’re trying to implement all the stuff we do in training into the game. We’re not there yet but we’re much better for sure.”
