Fair will offer taste of tradition
A TRADITIONAL country fair will take place with children’s races, a dog show and a rose queen procession.
The Macclesfield Forest and Wildboarclough Rose Queen Fete will be held at Crag Hall on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27, from 1pm.
It will be opened by Hilda Gaddum and also include a barbecue, beer tent, Pimms stand and stalls as well as games and demonstrations.
The rose queen procession begins at 2pm and there is also a fell race up Shutlingsloe setting off at 2.45pm (1.45pm for the under 12s race).
More than 1,000 people attended last year and the event is being held with the permission of the Earl and Countess of Derby.
