Rotary boxes help for the needy

THANKS have been given for a stellar effort that has seen the Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle’s shoebox appeal collect 1,245.

Scores of boxes filled with goodies and essentials will now be sent via the International Aid Trust. Among those who have contributed are Bollington Praise and Play Group, RiCH, East Cheshire Eye Society and St Oswald Church, in Bollington. The Ladies of Macclesfield Castle Inner Wheel helped fill the boxes.

Rotary Club president Carole Murphy said: “This is a tremendous effort from so many local groups.”

Other groups thanked include Hurdsfield Primary School, Kettleshulme Primary School, Macclesfield Academy, Calvary Church and Belong.
