No bull this time as Kerridge lose

- JOHN GRAYSTON

KERRIDGE travelled to Mossley hoping to enjoy a quieter game than the last time these sides met. The last fixture between the sides in 2017 resulted in a pitch invasion by a Bull which followed nationwide media coverage!

Mossley won the toss and elected to bowl in seamer friendly conditions.

Steven Regan and Alan Harbige opened the innings and made a steady start putting on 34 before the first wicket fell to Patrick Moss. Danny Brown came in and took the Mossley attack apart, scoring a hard hitting 88 which included 8 maximums. Danny received good support from Harbige 22 and Luke Wild with a quick fire 38 as Kerridge were dismissed for 204. Moss was the pick of the Mossley bowlers taking 5 wickets for 37 runs.

Mossley moved on to 27 before Danny Brown struck twice in two balls to leave the captain Gareth Creswell to face the hat trick ball. Creswell survived and then began the steady job of rebuilding. Kerridge only managed to take a further two wickets as Creswell finished with an unbeaten 120 as Mossley completed a six wicket victory with two overs remaining.

Kerridge welcome Wistaston to Clark Lane next week.
