Noel secures his place in the national quarter finals

-

MBBC boxer Noel Straw advanced to the final of the nationals – and only three fights away from being the best in the country – when he took on a very capable boxer in Shea McKnight from Gemini ABC in Liverpool, their regional champion.

After the usual long wait to get in the ring that comes with championship boxing we entered the ring and faced Mcknight who was slightly taller without an ounce of fat on him. In round one Shea was straight to work, fast hands. Noel’s was told to stay tight – he wasn’t going to keep that pace up and as expected he didn’t.

Noel waited and as soon as the opportunity came he went to work, pushing forward with a flurry off shots, working the angles and dominating proceedings.

As the fight progressed, Noel took control as he maintained a steady barrage of shots pushing forward all the time.

It was a very entertaining bout that the crowd absolutely loved and come the final bell there was only one winner as Noel Straw went through to the national quarter finals in Leicester next weekend.
