First tenant at village signs for another decade

- ALEX SCAPENS

THE longest-serving tenant at Tytherington Business Village has cemented this position with the signing of a new long-term lease.

Spectrum, which distributes diagnostic and surgical products for eyecare, will remain at its

Fernbank House another 10 years.

The company was the first occupier at the industrial estate back in 1994 and signed the latest deal with leasing surveyor Orbit Developments.

It is the largest independent ophthalmology distributor in the UK and was set up in 1988, currently employing 33 people across UK and for Eire, with 15 based at Tytherington.

Spectrum provides support for more than half of hospitals in the UK for their cataract and vitreoretinal surgery and is one of the largest suppliers of intra ocular lenses.

A large number of staff have been with the company for more than 20 years and managing director Ian Snelson says the office location has helped with recruitment.

He said: “We chose Fernbank House due to its location in the heart of Cheshire and its availability of high-quality staff.

“We’ve always felt at home here and recruitment is made easier due to the property’s flexibility and pleasant surroundings.

“We have always found Orbit good to work with on all levels. Any rare issues are resolved quickly and Orbit have made sure our needs come first.”

Benn Dickinson, from Orbit Developments, said: “We are delighted Spectrum have extended their lease and look forward to supporting the future growth and success of this leading and specialised business.”
