Jailed: Robber ‘who threatened pitbull’ on her vulnerable victim

- ALEX SCAPENS

AWOMAN who ‘threatened to set her pitbull terrier on a terrified and vulnerable victim’ has been jailed.

Lisa Swarbrick, 38, from Macclesfield, also

pushed the man to the floor before stealing his wallet containing cash and bank cards.

She appeared at Chester Crown Court and was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of robbery at a previous hearing.

Swarbrick, of Parr Street, had visited the victim’s Macclesfield home with the dog and demanded payment for gardening work that had been carried out.

But when the man, in his 60s, said he had already paid her she became aggressive.

Cheshire Police said she told the man she ‘would set the dog on him if he did not let her in’ so he backed off from the door and she came inside.

After she pushed him to the floor the victim handed over some money, but Swarbrick still stole his wallet in the February 16 attack.

Speaking after the case, PC Karl Shields, from Cheshire Police, said the victim still feels the effects of what happened.

He said: “This vulnerable victim was left feeling distressed and disorientated by his ordeal and it has had a profound effect on him.

“He is still struggling to come to terms with this happening in his own home but I hope this conviction helps him in some way to cope with his ordeal.”

Judge Steven Everett also gave Swarbrick an indefinite restraining order to keep her away from the victim.
