Mayor’s magic night is £882 charity winner
A TOTAL of £882 was raised at the Mayor of Macclesfield’s charity concert.
The event took place at St Michael’s Church, Macclesfield Market Place and featured a performance from 80 singers that were part of the Magic Voices choir.
Money raised will go towards Mayor Janet Jackson’s chosen charities Just Drop-In and Speaking Up Speaking Out (SUSO).
Mayor Jackson said: “Despite the storm outside, the church was full. I’m not sure who enjoyed the concert more the audience or the Magic Voices choir who gave a bravura performance.
”The singing was beautiful with pieces from Les Miserable to favourites from Simon and Garfunkel.
“Everyone had a marvellous time and with the added bonus that the concert raised £882.
”Thank you to everyone who attended and most of all thank you to Magic Voices who gave their time freely.”
