Deer is rescued from lake

FIREFIGHTERS came to the aid of a wild deer when it got stuck in a lake.

The animal was reported as trapped at Styperson Pool, on Sugar Lane, Adlington, on Sunday, February 23, at 4.20pm.

Crews set up a cordon around the scene to protect the deer while awaiting the arrival of the RSPCA.

The deer eventually managed to leave the scene and cordons were removed.
