Artist Tyra puts work on show
A TEXTILES artist from Macclesfield will display her work in a seven-week long exhibition.
Tyra Till, of Roe Street, Macclesfield, has teamed up with fellow artist Ruth Broadbent for an exhibition entitled Feltworks.
It will be held at the Foxlowe Arts Centre, Market Place, Leek, from March 14 to May 2 and entry is free.
Tyra, who hand dyes silk mesh, said: “As a girl I loved drawn thread work and Florentine embroidery.
“Although I decided at the age of 12 that this would not make a suitable career I promised myself that I would definitely embroider again when I was ‘old’.
“This time has now arrived, and that promise is being met.
“My family is integral to my work. Spinning, dyeing and weaving were inherited from my mother.
“I’ve made nearly everything for the exhibition by clearing my kitchen table over the last two years.”
