Heidi’s design on award so close to glory A

-

WEDDING accessory designer had a big day of her own after her business was shortlisted for a national award.

Heidi Reid, the owner of Glorious by Heidi, works out of the Makers Place inside Macclesfield’s Silk Museum, on Park Lane.

She was nominated for a prize at the UK Wedding

Awards, which took place at the impressive Biltmore Hotel in London’s Mayfair earlier this month.

Sadly for Heidi - who designs hair accessories - she was beaten to the top accessory prize by the shoe designer Charlotte Mills.

But she says the experience was nonetheless memorable and that it was an honour to be nominated.

Heidi said: “I’ve been lucky enough to win regional awards recognising my work before now.

”But to be shortlisted down to the final six for a national award judged by people like Michelle Royle, editor of You and Your Wedding Magazine, is a huge badge of honour.

”I’d practiced my best Oscar non-winner face, and had a fantastic night rubbing shoulders with some true icons of the industry, such as Gill Harvey of Eliza Jane Howell who recently dressed Hollywood star Sharon Stone.

“It was a glorious experience, and one that I’d love to improve upon next year.”
