Trust urges backers to go on the run

-

A CHARITY is looking for people to dig out those trainers and lycra and get on the run to raise money.

The Rossendale Trust, based in Sutton, wants volunteers to take part in the Great Manchester 10K Run and has places left on its team for the event.

Anyone who did so would raise sponsorship for the trust, which provides care and support for adults with disabilities.

The money would be used for the WorkTaste programme - a vital tool in supporting people into paid employment.

The event takes place around Manchester city centre on Sunday, May 24, and everyone from elite athletes to first time runners is encouraged to get in touch.

Sue Heaven, head of fundraising at the charity, said: “Giving vulnerable adults a real taste of work is a team effort and we need your help. Join our team of runners to help us to ensure the continuation of the project - get in touch, make a difference and complete an epic run in Manchester.”

Anyone interested can contact karl.downing@ rossendaletrust.org or call (01260) 252500.
