Upmarket hall plans to join glamping set
Florist helps estate to bloom
AN UPMARKET country hotel wants to offer guests luxury camping accommodation during the summer season.
Mottram Hall Hotel has applied to Cheshire East
Council for listed building consent for the glamping tents between May and September each year.
Glamping is a more comfortable and luxurious form of camping.
A design and access statement submitted with the application on behalf of the hotel at Mottram St Andrew, states: “There are three types of glamping accommodation together with a Tipee food and drink unit and a chill out/ pamper tent.
“The glamping accommodation will be located within the grounds to the east of the main hall.”
The area will cover 660 sq m of floorspace.
The planning document adds: “The approach has been to set the accommodation with a reasonable amount of space between each unit.
“Although food and drink and pamper units would be immediately available, all the other facilities of the health resort would be available to the guests.”
According to the application, the single storey glamping units would be small in scale and size and set in the grounds of the hall.
They would be partially screened from the main hall.
“There would be no adverse impact on the soft landscaping at the resort,” states the report, adding the units are all high quality,” it went on.
A FLORIST was moved in to a new housing estate to give it a bright and welcoming look for prospective buyers.
Ann Partington, from Poynton-based business Florology, was recruited by builder Bellway for its large Copperfields development on Dickens Lane, also in Poynton.
She created a series of floral designs for the inside and outside of the showroom and sales centre.
They included lilies with Phoenix palm leaves and contorted hazel.
Hollie Reynolds, from Bellway, said: “Since launching in Poynton just a few months ago, we’ve had a wonderful response from locals and very much feel part of the local community.
“It is important to us to work with local businesses where possible, and we’re delighted with the floral concepts and installations that Ann has delivered for the show home openings.”
