Tough return to action for Kerridge

- ADAM BANKS

Trafford Metrovics 267/7 Vs Kerridge 102 all out

PLAYING their first game in three weeks Kerridge had a long day in the field before a short time at the crease when they made a return trip to Sale to play Trafford after a great victory there just a few weeks ago.

The host’s electing to bat on a pretty good wicket and scored easily amassing 267/7 in the 40 alloted overs.

Chris Wood taking two wickets and James Knight with three the pick of the bowling.

The run chase got off to a disastrous start when Dodangoda edged behind first legal ball of the game after a wide.

Captain Will McGinnis came to the crease and alongside Adam Banks made 41 together before Banks was bowled for 23, Regan and Knight then departed without adding any to leave Kerridge teetering on 42/4.

McGinnis continued to battle and score all around the ground and was rewarded with a deserved 50 before then being dismissed LBW even though there was a good piece of bat on it.

Some runs came in dribs and drabs from the lower order but nothing of any real substance along with a few sundries to bring up the 100 but in truth were never really troubling a mammoth run chase and were all out inside the 32nd over for just 102.

Trafford need a win next week for a chance of the championship.

Kerridge travel to Burton in this season’s finale looking for a result to try and make a top 6 finish in the table. Usual appreciation for our matchball sponsor, this week - Mr R Borrell
