AN ‘AMAZING’ youngster with a fear of heights will jump out of a plane at 10,000ft to raise money for a charity that supports his family.

Harry Norton, 20, of Macclesfield, will take on a tandem skydive on September 9 in aid of the Seashell Trust.

His brothers Reims, 22, and Cayman, 15, have drug resistant epilepsy, autism and learning difficulties because of a rare, life-limiting genetic condition.

The Seashell Trust, based in Stockport, is among charities that have given them vital support and Harry has raised more than £60,000 for these causes over the last decade.

But even as a fundraising veteran, he is a little nervous ahead of his latest challenge - even though he has friends also taking part.

Harry, of Hamble Way, said: “I am really excited to take part in this jump, however if I’m being totally honest I am terrified. I have the absolute worst fear of heights so jumping out of a plane was the decision we managed to come to.

“We thought that it would be best if we all went out of our comfort zone and faced a big personal challenge in order to maximise the reach and audience of the whole purpose of this skydive, for

Seashell and for the families that can receive the benefit.”

Harry studies business management and law at Newcastle University and student pals Sam Stevenson, Josh Fewtell and Tristan Brown will also do the skydive.

His first fundraiser was a 5km run around 10 years ago and he has undertaken many more since.

The Seashell Trust is a learning disability charity that provides education, care and support.

Harry said: “I will always feel like I owe it to the Charities who have supported my family and helped my mum raise two incredible boys.

“I love the feeling of knowing that I am helping families just like mine, knowing that I’m allowing children to spend time with their families and they are provided with the most amazing care at Seashell.

“The young people and their families are my motivation and drive, if they can face what they do everyday, then why can’t I face my fear.”

Mum Angela Norton added: “Harry is amazing, he has had to grow up very quickly. He is very strong and the most joyful person, so brave, caring and supportive.”
