CHLOE PRIOR U14S STOCKPORT VIKINGS ... 3 MACC LADIES ............... 12

MACC started the game on the front foot, bursting into an early three-goal lead with goals from Catrin Thomas, Abi Poulton, and Sophie Goodier.

The pick of the first three goals was Sophie Goodier’s sweetly-struck left foot shot from outside the box.

Sophie added a second to her personal tally with a well struck free-kick from over 20 yards out, and Abi Poulton hit a well-times half volley to help Macc into a commanding 7-2 into half-time lead.

The second half was very much like the first, with Macc dominating posession and creating lots of chances.

Abi Poulton controlled the game from midfield, with Catrin Thomas and Chloe Lawson a constant threat from both wings.

The game ended 12-3 to Macc, and Player of the Match was awarded to Abi Poulton for grabbing six goals and dictating the flow of the game from the midfield.

MACC travelled to Warrington to take on Crosfield Juniors severely hit by multiple injuries and only able to start with 10 players against a full opposition squad.

The players seemed to be a bit out of sorts in the first 20 minutes and the extra player showed and

Macc were soon 1-0 down.

Caitlyn Gloor grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and asserted her dominance in the midfield and soon the girls started to find some rhythm with their passing and a goal each from Lola and Chloe Craddock had the team 2-1 up by half time.

Shortly before half time Caitlyn Gloor had a penalty brilliantly saved by the opposition goalkeeper.

The second half began brightly again and were deservedly 3-1 up with another goal from Lola Craddock who is finding form again.

A rare lapse in concentration allowed Crosfields in to win a penalty which they put over the bar but the warning wasn’t heeded as shortly after a Crosfields player came in unchallenged from the right wing to make it 3-2.

Macc were down to 9 due to Lola Craddock picking up a knock but she couldn’t be kept off the field for long and came back on to complete her hat trick and win 4-2.

Girl of the game went to Leah Johnson who didn’t put a foot wrong all game, won all her headers at centre half and was brave bringing the ball out from the back and was landing 50 yard passes onto the wingers feet.

Unfortunately, she missed the last 20 minutes with a bad clash of heads resulting in a trip to hospital and we hope her injury isn’t too bad.
