George makes most of quickfire return to ring with another win

-

MACCLESFIELD Boys Boxing Club took a midweek bout at JPs show in Audenshaw as George Stocia had boxed so well on the MBBC dinner and he was still buzzing and ready to go again.

So when a cross match was available on this show he jumped at it.

The kid he would box was from the same gym, Timperley ABC, as the boxer he boxed in the MBBC show and having looked at George and thought their kid stood a good chance of beating him they consequently asked for the match.

It was a busy show and as these lads are around the 80kg in weight they were late on the bill. George’s opponent was Oscar Richardson, a strong looking boxer.

Round one saw Oscar come out fast throwing some powerful shots, with George tightening his defence and pushing in to take the sting out of them. George was relaxed and took the onslaught then started get his shots off throwing rangy straights that started to catch and score, Oscar was no push over and kept the pressure on, great opening round.

Round two and George was settling in nicely and looking good as he started to push forward more enjoying himself. His shots were getting more accurate on the counter as Oscar continued to fire bombs at him, this was a great bout so far and George was edging it all the time

Round three and both lads were feeling the pace, but this didn’t stop them from giving their all, both guys where leaving nothing behind in that ring, and as the bell neared George let off a combo that caught Oscar clean, pushing his head back and giving the ref no option but to step in and administer an eight count.

This was the icing on the cake as the bell rang a few seconds later, a unanimous win for George Stocia, a real nice boxer and kid, the coaches where so chuffed for him as he took his second win in two weeks, big thank you to coach’s Abbey Smallwood, Jordan Reed and Steve Roberts for taking him.
