Where have all the real leaders gone?

-

WELL, what can we say? It looks like the free world could give Donald Trump another chance to run the USA.

Let’s not fool ourselves wherever America goes in the world we follow.

It is inconceivable that the UK would ever choose to be on another side of a major conflict.

Which means we are as tied to The Donald as much as our friends in Chicago, Detroit or California.

If that is not a frightening scenario I don’t know what is.

Clearly, they see Mr Trump with completely different eyes to us.

Personally, I find the prospect of Donald Trump leading the free world once again alarming.

So how come he is obliterating his opponents without even bothering to take part in open debate?

The answer to that question is simple.

A great swathe of the American public now believe they have no political party representing them and voting for The Donald is their way expressing their anger.

Regardless of what our politicians would like to think most of us are heartily sick of their childish banter.

Whatever they choose to believe we have come to see them collectively as peevish children more interested in name-calling than doing the job.

A prospective Labour Candidate told us recently how proud he was to be selected as Labour’s

Parliament Candidate and I wondered how long it would be before he started whinging about the Tories.

Not long was the answer as he churned out the same old (we are great / they are terrible) speech we have been hearing for decades.

I might have been impressed had he managed to express his ideas and expectations without moaning and belittling other parties.

Alas he was no different than all the other politicians we have seen before.

Just look how they stood back and watched as those poor desperate Post Office managers had their lives destroyed by incompetence and malice. Where was his wonderful party then?

Sadly, we are on a political roundabout and like America we have no politicians to make us feel proud.

What we have is a childish House of Commons where point scoring is the name of the game.

Just imagine how that plays out on TV sets around the world. No wonder Putin thinks we are a bunch of buffoons.

Do you really think

Kear Starmer and Rishi are any different to Sleepy Joe and The Donald.

We haven’t seen an MP with guts and integrity since Aneurin Bevan sacrificed his life to create the NHS. As for our local ‘representatives’ it’s the same old Yada, Yada, Yada.

What we have is a childish House of Commons where point scoring is the name of the game.
