Why the dog walker party will get my vote

ALTERNATIVE LOOK AT

LIFE IN

MACC

GREETINGS my friends spring is just around the corner (honest).

This week we are witnessing yet another serious pollution of the River Bollin in scenes very similar to last year where sections of the river turned into a toxic bubble bath.

Local people were outraged and kept a keen eye on the situation and tried as much as they could with their limited resources to gather evidence of the perpetrators.

They spent hours wading in the water collecting samples and submitting reports to the Environment Agency.

In February last year pollution entered the river killing more than 1,000 fish and whilst the Agency found the source where the pollution entered the water they failed to identify any culprits.

So, once again we must ask what the hell are they doing? Exactly what have they achieved since the last disaster.

A spokesman for the EA said, “We have seen reports of foam on The River Bollin and thank members of the public who reported it. We encourage members of the public to report any pollution incidents.”

I bet they do. Without members of the public doing their job for them there would be absolutely nothing to show for this ongoing contamination.

Apparently, Macclesfield MP David Rutley has visited the site and found it ‘unacceptable’ saying, “Those responsible must be found”

You ‘tell ‘em David, that will really do it.”

Quite frankly, the only sensible voice in this entire pathetic episode comes from local dogwalker Marcus Lonyon who said, “The fish will be killed again. The Otters, herons. Kingfishers etc won’t be able to

feed their young and wildlife will starve.

“Whoever did this knows what they have done. They must be prosecuted and made to restock the river with fish and whatever drain they have used to flow into the river must be located and culverted into the mainstream system. It must not happen again.”

Thank God someone has the guts to say the strikingly obvious.

I don’t know what you are doing on polling day, Mr Lonyon, but if you would like my vote, it’s yours. I’m sick to of hearing ‘Lessons have been learned.’

If one local dog walker can sum-up the blindingly obvious what the hell are we doing paying for all these government jobsworths whose only roll appears to fill forms and make excuses?

Can anyone tell me what we are paying for?
