Grand boost to redecorate and refurbish craft room

-

MACCLESFIELD Community ArtSpace is a local charity that helps to make all kinds of creativity accessible to the people of Macclesfield.

We are based at the top of an old mill on Heapy Street, where there is space to run courses and workshops and welcome community groups to come and create.

We are currently working with local community groups and Macclesfield Town Council to prepare for the 1261 summer festival and parade day on 29th June this year.

We have been raising funds with the Tesco Blue Token Scheme and are thrilled to have received £1,000 to redecorate and refurb our craft room.

We would like to thank Sheena, Tesco Community Champion, for making this possible and all the wonderful volunteers at Artspace who have transformed the room.

● Music@Mike’s – the summer season of lunchtime concerts at St Michael’s Church in the Market Place, Macclesfield begins on Thursday 11 April at 1.15pm with a welcome return by two of the Cheshire Chamber Collective; Julian Davis (piano) and Nicola Bright (violin).

They will be playing works by Bach, Bartok and Vaughan Williams. Entry is free.

Donations to the East Cheshire Hospice and St Michael’s are welcomed.

The Angel At My Table cafe will be open for hot meals and light refreshments.

● Bollington Arts Centre’s final Jazz Club of the winter season, sees the welcome return of Kevin Grenfell’s Jazz Giants on Saturday 13 April.

A regular and very popular visitor to the Arts Centre, Kevin is bringing Paul Harrison as his special Guest.

A truly great clarinet player, Paul has been based in Denmark for many years and Bollington is lucky to get him on one of his rare appearances in the UK.

An evening of superb, swinging jazz is guaranteed at the Wellington Rd venue, with a start time of 7.30, doors and bar at 6.30 and a finish time of 10.00.
