‘Take advantage of less mobile Henley’

Brown believes Maids will have legs on rivals

-

Chris Brown says he’s hoping Maidenhead Men’s 1sts can take advantage of Henley’s ‘less mobile’ players when the sides meet at Altwood School on Saturday.

The Maidenhead captain was disappointed his side wasn’t able to build on their 2-1 win over Richmond two weeks ago, when Saturday’s game at Oxford OBU was postponed due to a frozen and slippery pitch.

But he’s confident they can make it backto-back home wins in 2020 when Henley visit this weekend.

The visitors arrive at Altwood two places above Maids in MBBO Premier Division 2 West, having thumped another of the struggling sides, Woking, 5-1 on Saturday.

However, while Henley have plenty of experience in their ranks, Brown believes that – at least for a number of the squad – their more agile days are behind them.

“They’re a side with lots of experience,” he said.

“They were playing in the league above not too long ago and a lot of the squad were involved in that.

“The spine of their side has played at a high level in the past, so they certainly know how to manage games and be effective.

“At their place we were 3-1 up and should have put the game to bed. But we let them back into it and felt we’d thrown away two points
