Drive-in marks start of season

Maidenhead Golf Club marked the start of the new golfing year with the annual Captain’s Drivein on Sunday (January 19).

More than 100 members watched as club captain Andrew Coates and Ladies’ captain Pam Thomason hit their drives from the first tee. They were joined by the new incoming junior captain, Harrison Swift.

Andrew, who has been a member of the club since 2009, hit his drive 215 yards, while Pam, a member since 2012, hit hers 158 yards. Andrew and Pam have both chosen to support the disability sports club, SportsAble, as their charity during the year.
