Heaven 17 and The Human League founder Martyn Ware joins The Vinyl Frontier’s Jeff Lloyd to chat about his career at the forefront of electronic music over four decades.

He’s been a top music producer for the likes of Tina Turner, Erasure and Terence Trent D’Arby and a leading electronic soundscape artist. With vinyl tracks from early Human League plus other examples of Martyn’s craft.

Based on the classic Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds’ film, this Singin’ in the Rain features all the favourite songs, You Were Meant for Me, You Are My Lucky Star and others.

Set in Hollywood as silent movies were giving way to the new ‘talkies’.

Jump on board the broom with the witch and her cat in Tall Stories’ fun-filled adaptation of Room on the Broom, the bestsellin­g picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

The witch and her cat are travelling on their broomstick when they pick up some hitchhiker­s – a friendly dog, a beautiful green bird and a frantic frog. But this broomstick’s not meant for five and it snaps in two just as the hungry dragon appears.

Expect tall stories, fascinatin­gly funny facts, really silly jokes, a quick-fire Q&A and a quiz. Don’t expect tap-dancing, leotards or a forward roll.

The stand-up comedian shines a light on how hard it is to be a good person these days.

Why don’t we just leave each other alone and get on with the big stuff?

Laura takes on society’s big issues: social media, mental health, climate change and conceiving.

Go for the jokes, not answers. Laura was Comedians’ Choice Best Performer Winner in 2018 and 2019 and star of Live at the Apollo on BBC2.

The monthly comedy night returns for 2020 hosted by George Rigden (nominated as Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2017).

He will introduce three comedy acts including Aidan Goatley, who has been performing since 2011 and provided tour support for Hal Cruttenden.

Wednesday April 1 & Thursday, April 2 John Bishop: Warm-up 2020 Theatre Royal

There are still tickets left to catch comedy superstar John Bishop as he heads to Windsor to warm up his brand-new show.

This is his eighth stand-up show and the blurb says it’s shaping up to be his best yet.

It’s likely to sell out quickly so move fast if you want to catch the Scouse funnyman.
