Directing a thriller seems like coming full circle to Louise Jameson.
The actress, known for her roles in everything from Bergerac to Tenko and EastEnders and Doctor Who, is now intent on Revenge.
She explained: “Whoodunnits have served me really well during my career, and I have recently been thrilled to have been given a chance at the iconic Miss Marple, further whetting my appetite for the cluefinding genre.
“I was approached by Kate (producer) and Martin (artistic director), and was thrilled. It feels like a ‘step up’ for me, directing a tour.”
The Crime and Comedy Theatre Company production of Robin Hawdon's psychological thriller opens in Greenwich in February with South Hill Park the second stop in a national tour.
Revenge is the story of Bill Crayshaw MP, whose life so far has run smoothly on the rails: he’s hailed in the corridors of Parliament, lauded in business, and loved at home.
That is until he returns from a business trip to find his party agent has been killed. Was it a terrible, tragic accident? Or, are the circumstances more sinister?
Mary Stewart is determined to find out, and she seems prepared to go to extraordinary lengths to discover the truth.
But what is her motive? Journalism, blackmail, seduction or… revenge?
Louise is looking forward to taking the show on the road and seeing how audiences respond to it.
“The dedication and amount of work that has already happened is a testament to what I hope will be a hugely successful tour,” she said.
