Bartley is September's Manager of the Month

-

Mark Bartley has personally thanked his entire team after being named ‘Manager of the Month’ for Marlow FC’s flawless record within the Isthmian League South Central Division in September.

The Blues boss is one of four individuals who have been honoured by the league and bestowed with the award courtesy of insurance specialists Vita Risk Solutions.

A statement on the Isthmian League’s website read: “We’ve already been to Marlow to honour their fabulous defence, but we’re hanging around to give an award to Mark Bartley, who has masterminded a one hundred percent league record which included not only three September victories but not a single goal conceded.

“Indeed, Marlow’s first eight games of the campaign in all competitions ended in victory, and a rather remarkable eight clean sheets. Many congratulations on a magnificent September – indeed a magnificent season so far – go to

Mark and his team.”

In his most humble and professional manner, manager

Bartley commended his staff who have had a large part to play in the Blues’ success on and off the pitch at the Alfred Davis Memorial Ground.

“I think it’s a well-deserved award for the whole management team,” he said.

“We’ve got a good complimentary team of people that work hard towards a common goal. This ethos is what has got us to where we are.

“I’ve got Leon Bird who is an ex-forward, so he brings that attackminded focus to our management team.

“He’s really good ingame aswell, looking at what’s going on and making decisions quickly.

“Blakey (Jordan Blake) is really consistent for me in training. In the first hour of every session, he makes sure the guys are getting through their technical drills which is important.

“Phil Brown is my assistant but he also works hard with Granty (Simon Grant) every week on his goalkeeping.

“Harry Pelling does a lot of the analysis on the opposition. He often goes and scouts them and their players.

“I sit down with the information he gives me and I think of how to approach the game and the tactics best to use.

“This award is a testament for the whole team and those who work tirelessly behind the scenes.

“We’re all hungrier and more energised now than we’ve ever been, and I believe it will continue for the rest of the season.”
