Desborough hosts England international match
Desborough Bowls Club hosted an international match between England and Malaysia last weekend.
England held the upper hand throughout the contest, but the game was a terrific ad- vert for the sport and Desborough hopes to attract further highprofile matches in the future.
The Malaysians, in particular, were impressed with the Green Lane facilities and are considering using it as a training base for next year’s Commonwealth Games.
In other club news, Desborough’s Egham Trophy campaign came to a premature and disappointing end as they lost 90-70 to Whiteknights.
Desborough were generally second best on most rinks, however, there were a couple of winning teams skipped by Kevin Scrace and Malcolm Woodley.
