Sellman scores four in six minutes as Panthers win

Harry James bagged a brace to help Maidenhead Girls & Boys u14s Panthers on their way to an 8-3 victory over Berks Elite Gold in EBFA Division 6. Harry McGill also scored with a header to give the Panthers a deserved 3-2 lead at half-time.

Berks levelled matters once more and the outcome was firmly in the balance for 20 minutes until Rowan Sellman scored four goals in six minutes to take the game away from Berks.

Senna Anagho also scored with pretty much the last kick of the match. Rowan was named player of the match for his goals and two assists, but he was ably supported in midfield by Eesa Sharif who had his best game for the club.

Elsewhere Declan Pinto and a brace from Rhyce O’Connor earned the u16s Colts a 3-0 away win at Finchampst­ead Dynamos.

The u14s Dolphins were held to a 2-2 draw at home by NPL Youth Tigers and the u14s Foxes were 4-3 winners over Maidenhead Girls Mavericks in the nine-a-side friendly. The u13s Dragons were beaten 11-0 by Caversham AFC Arrows and the u13s Jaguars went down 4-3 at home to Eversley & California Youth Giants.

There was also a big 9-0 win for the u12s Scorpions over the Caversham Trents Blues.

W The Thames Valley Developmen­t League resumed on Sunday following a break for half-term, however, many matches were cancelled due to the stormy weather.

Of the matches that survived the wind and rain, Burnham Juniors Sabres Whites u13s beat the Golden Eagles Flyers 13-0 and the

Marish Wizards Blacks u12s won even more emphatical­ly, beating FC Baylis u12s 16-0.

In the u8s division there was an 11-4 victory for Golden Eagles over Frontline. The game was initially well contested but the

Eagles scored six goals in the final two quarters to pull clear.

Freddy and Olly Tibballs scored eight of their side’s goals between them. Raheem Nsimba put the Eagles on their way to victory. In the same division FC Cippenham defeated Harefield United 5-2.
