British Athletics put WSEH AC athletes on the pathway to future success

-

British Athletics has announced its 2021/22 Futures Academy Programme Athletes, with several Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) AC athletes among the cohort.

The athletes will be supported by the Olympic and Paralympic Futures Academy programme, which is supported by Nike, throughout the season.

Recent graduates of the programme include Olympic silver medallist, Keely Hodgkinson, and Paralympic champion Owen Miller. It is hoped that with GB athlete development and coaching support they can become successful senior athletes and transition into the World Class Programme (WCP), for athletes who show they have the potential to perform at future Olympic and Paralympic

Games.

The Olympic Futures programme is split into three levels, Futures Academy, Futures Transition and Relay.

Among those to benefit from additional support are WSEH’s Toby Makoyawo (Peter Griffiths, WSEH AC), a double gold winner at the European u20s Championships.

On the Olympic Futures Transition scheme is Tade Ojora (Caryl Smith Gilbert, WSEH AC), and Jake Norris (Paul Dickenson, WSEH AC).

Temi Ojora (Daniel Sawyers, WSEH AC) is included in the Olympic Futures Academy programme, along with Jodie Smith (Laura Turner-Alleyne, WSEH AC) and Toby Makoyawo.
