Murder charge over 1987 death of Shani Warren

TAPLOW: A 66-year-old man has been charged in connection with the killing of Shani Warren, whose body was found in a lake in

Taplow in April 1987.

Stoke Poges resident Shani disappeare­d on April 17, 1987.

A day later, a dog walker discovered Shani’s body bound and gagged beneath the water in Taplow Lake. The case has remained unsolved for 34 years.

Thames Valley Police has now charged Donald Robertson, formerly of Slough, in connection with Shani’s death.

Robertson has been charged with murder, false imprisonme­nt and indecent assault in relation to the 26-year-old woman’s death.

The 66-year-old is also charged with rape and kidnap in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Slough in July 1981.
