Maidenhead Women's 1sts are flying up the South Central Women's Premier Division 1 table after registering their fourth win in five matches in a thrilling 4-3 win over Amersham & Chalfont 1sts at Altwood School on Saturday.
Maids' form is unrecognisable from the team which started the campaign with three straight defeats, and those four victories have lifted the team from the foot of the table to sixth in the space of a few weeks.
The turnaround began with a 4-1 at Henley on October 30 and, although they lost their subsequent match 4-2 to Havant 1sts, they were buoyed by an impressive win over second placed Oxford Hawks 2nds in their next game.
Bottom of the table Winchester were swatted aside 3-1 away from home before Saturday's entertaining 4-3 victory over Amersham.
They'll look to maintain their upward trajectory at Bournemouth on Saturday, a side who've lost four of their past five matches.
Their male counterparts, Maidenhead Men's 1sts, will be looking to stage a similar recovery after heavy defeats to Oxford University (6-0), Trojans 1sts (4-1) and Henley (5-0) saw them slip to second bottom of the South Central Men's Premier Division 1 table.
Saturday's match at Reading 2nds was postponed meaning they go into Saturday's home match with Bournemouth with only one league win to their name so far this season.
Poor availability and injuries to key personnel has hindered their progress, but captain Phil Cowell will be hoping for better luck on both of those fronts in the second half of the season.
When they have managed to get close to their full complement of players out, they've produced impressive displays against Winchester, Banbury and Slough.
