Desborough progress at expense of rivals

Desborough's women proved too strong for their visitors, Whiteknigh­t's B team, as they progressed to the second round of the Mason's Trophy.

The ladies team eased to a 37-26 victory and will now face a tougher test against

Whiteknigh­t’s A team in the next round.

Desborough's men defeated West Berks by 15 shots in their

Southern Counties Single Rink first round match this week.

Beal lead, Mark Essex at two,

Mark Peachey at three and skip, Gordon Knapper eased to a comfortabl­e 26-11 win.

Desborough also took on a Herts IBC in a friendly match on

Sunday.

Herts were playing their first six-rink match since the easing of lockdown and clearly enjoyed their return to normality, winning on three of the rinks to claim a 139-101 victory.

Desborough did manage one rink win, with Sam Stack skipping Dave Smith, Roy Palmer, Clive Northover to a 23-14 win.

Two of the rinks were drawn.
