Marlow beat Shipston 17-12 to make the most of season's longest journey

Marlow RFC are on the rise again after picking up their fifth win of the season in the Tribute Southern Counties North at the weekend.

Rory Greenslade-Jones’ men made the long journey over to Shipston on Stour and travelled back with maximum points thanks to a 17-12 victory.

It's the farthest journey of the season for Marlow, but the squad will have been happy on the coach home having beaten their fourth placed rivals and moved up to sixth in the table.

The club host Wallingfor­d at the weekend.

W In the Tribute South West 1 East, Windsor RFC were narrowly beaten, 17-12, to Trowbridge.

Having been extremely keen for the clash after last week’s thrilling onepoint win over Sherborne, Chris Emmett’s men put up a strong fight at Hilperton.

This loss, however, keeps them in 11th place in the table with a threepoint advantage over the bottom three clubs. Windsor travel to Witney on Saturday.

W Slough RFC made amends for their trouncing to league leaders Bletchley a week earlier with an exceptiona­l 56-15 victory over lowly-placed Wheatley on Saturday.

The Greenies’ win puts them into third place in the in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier with 30 points, nine points clear of sixth place where Aldermasto­n currently occupy.

They welcome Tadley to Upton Court Park this weekend, the side sitting one spot below in fourth.
