Alfonso will be a Rebel until the end of season

-

Slough Town striker Alfonso Tenconi is to remain with the Rebels until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old, who netted the side's leveller in Saturday's 2-1 win over Tonbridge Angels a result which lifted the Rebels to within three points of the play-off places - has committed himself to the club until then.

Tenconi has stepped up from the club's u19s and u23s squad in recent weeks and has so far scored three goals for the senior squad.

Reflecting on the news this week, joint manager Neil Baker said: “He has settled in very quickly to the level and made a real impact on the team.

“Some people may be aware that he is on a gap year before he goes to university next August, and at present he is awaiting acceptance to the top university in the US, and one of the top universities in the world.

“While football is a passion for him, his education will come first, and we have to applaud that.”

Slough also confirmed that Ada Okorogheye will be returning from the States at the end of this month and will be with the club until the club until the end of the season.

“Ada hit the ground running for us just over a year ago, but a knee injury meant we did not get him back fit before he went to the US,” said Baker.

“However, that injury is now behind him, and he has been playing well, and we look forward to having him back around the squad.”
