Frankenstein South Hill Park
Blackeyed Theatre bring their revival of their ‘masterfully constructed’ (The Stage) 2016 Frankenstein to the Wilde Theatre stage.
Geneva. 1816. Victor Frankenstein obsesses in the pursuit of nature’s secret, the elixir of life itself.
But nothing can prepare him for what he creates. So begins a gripping life or death adventure taking him to the ends of the earth and beyond.
Frankenstein is a brilliantly theatrical production, employing a haunting live soundscape, physical ensemble storytelling and incredible puppetry, designed by Yvonne Stone, to create the monster. The production is directed by Eliot Giuralarocca, music composed by Ron McAllister, with design by award-winning Victoria Spearing, and musical direction from Ellie Verkerk (Six, The Musical).
As well as remaining a firm favourite with mainstream theatre audiences, Frankenstein is massively popular with schools as an English Literature GCSE set text, so this production will also be a firm favourite with teachers and students.
Don’t miss this thrilling adaptation of Mary Shelley’s gothic horror masterpiece by South Hill Park associate company.
It fuses ensemble storytelling, live music, puppetry and stunning theatricality. Frankenstein promises a fresh, exciting take on what is widely considered to be a landmark work of romantic, gothic and science fiction.
The Express said: “Genuinely moving, Mary Shelley would have loved it.”
