Repairs continue on footbridge
TAPLOW: A footbridge that has been closed for more than six months will reopen ‘as soon as possible’ after the replacement of a section is carried out.
The Berry Hill Footbridge in Taplow has been closed to the public since May 2021 due to some of the ‘structurally-critical timber sections’ having ‘deteriorated beyond repair’.
In a statement, Steven Broadbent, Buckinghamshire Council’s cabinet member for transport, said: “After working with contractors, partners and stakeholders to plan the replacement of the central span, our crews have recently successfully and safely removed the failed section of the bridge.
“We plan to replace the section which has been removed and bring the footbridge back into operation as soon as possible.”
