Swimarathon returns for 2022

More than £1million since its start

since its move from the now closed down Magnet.

“The Swimarathon is enjoyed by a lot of people on the day and continues to benefit even more throughout the year,” Lions Club secretary Brenda Butler said.

“The actual event itself is such a win-win with young and older people joining in as a team in a keep fit activity, and at the same time raising funds for good causes.”

On Sunday, a total of 35 volunteer spots are taken on by people made of the Lions Club, former members of the charity and family members of Lions members.

As well as receiving a grant from the Louis Baylis Trust to help with admin costs, the Swimarathon was also helped by Leisure Focus – which runs the Braywick Leisure Centre – as well as Clean Conscience UK, which supported the event’s COVID safety.
