Pinkneys Green in contention to be crowned

-

Pinkneys Green are one of five clubs vying to be crowned champions in the Chilterns League Premiership, as Jack Stemp’s men conquered Denham by seven wickets at the weekend.

With two weekends left, any of Cadmore End (first), Emmbrook & Bearwood (second), Pinkneys (third), Knotty Green (fourth), and Littlewick Green (fifth) can win the title.

In contrast, any two from Braywood 2nds, Hurley, and the Lee can be relegated.

Fielding first, Pinkneys restricted Denham to 272-9 from 45 overs on Saturday with Chandu Sekar Bandla worthy of great praise for claiming 4-44.

With the bat, Stemp’s side managed 273-3 from 40.1 overs as Vinay Reddy swatted 75 runs,

Ben Purchese (100no) hit an unbroken century, and Stemp himself struck 65 runs.

There’s not much for Braywood to play for in the Chilterns League Championship, with the side sitting in sixth place.

On Saturday, the side lost to Ballinger Waggoners by three wickets.

Batting first, Braywood managed 228 all out from 42.1 overs.

In reply, the Waggoners obtained 230-7 from 44.2 overs.

Holyport have been declared champions of Chilterns League Division 1 while the runner up is yet to be decided out of Ruislip Victoria, Knotty Green 2nds and Little Marlow.

Holyport were beaten by three wickets to Harpsden on Saturday, just their third loss of the season.

Little Marlow, meanwhile, defeated Pinkneys Green 2nds by 10 runs.
