Diverse and verse contests

COX GREEN: A free horticultural and craft show selling homegrown produce will be returning to the parish this weekend.

Cox Green Community Centre, in Highfield Lane, will play host to the show on Saturday from 2.30pm.

The event made a successful return last year following an enforced break due to COVID, and is back again with a range of classes for children and adults.

These include arts and crafts, photography, vegetables, baking and preserves. The limerick class is also back by popular demand, with this year’s theme being The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

This year the show is welcoming Joan Palmer to present the prizes, who has served on the horticultural show committee for many years.

A market will also be selling homegrown produce and cakes donated by The Handmade Cake Company.
