Honoured by Marlow proclamation
Marlow proclaimed the new King in a ceremony attended by hundreds of people on Sunday.
The proclamation was one of hundreds to take place across the country after King Charles III was proclaimed Sovereign by the Accession Council on Saturday.
Mayor Richard Scott attended the Buckinhamshire proclamation in Aylesbury on Sunday, before returning to Marlow to read out the town’s proclamation to residents and visitors.
About 500 people attended the event, which ended with the Mayor declaring ‘God Save the King’ and the National Anthem being played.
Cllr Scott said: “It was a huge honour to be invited to read the proclamation in our town, and to recognise the new King following the sad death of Her Majesty the Queen. It was touching to see so many attending the event.”
