-

Several local players recorded mightily impressive stats for the 2022 season, including Cookham Dean’s Alfie Agar who finished the summer as one of Berkshire’s top run scorers and wicket takers.

Aged just 14, Alfie made a confident start to the season, smashing an unbeaten 74 in his side’s National Village Cup win over Binfield and went on to play with surety and fearlessness across the season.

In his matches this summer, Alfie scored 567 runs and took 16 catches, statistics bettered by only a handful of players across all the Berkshire leagues.

Also featuring in the top 10 were Slough’s Dan Lincoln, who hit 997 runs – agonisingly missing out on reaching four figures by just three runs. He also took 26 catches, a haul bettered only by Andrew MacEwan (28) and Jacob Lawson (27).

Wargrave’s Euan Woods also finished a season which ended in promotion for his club with some handy figures. Woods managed 697 runs across the summer, took 20 catches and 32 wickets. Woods’ Wagrave teammate, Rhodri Lewis, also took 24 wickets to finish in the top 10 across the county.

In the Chilterns League, Hurley’s Mike Walton took an impressive 21 catches despite the side being relegated from the CMB Premiership.

Berkshire’s top wicket taker was Connor Lambsdale, who took 51 wickets, while the top run scorer across all Berkshire divisions was Charlie Dunnett with 1,130 runs.
