Blues ‘shot themselves in the foot’ against Moles
Boss Mark Bartley felt Marlow 'shot themselves in the foot' as they crashed out of the FA Trophy at home to Binfield on Tuesday evening.
Bartley was left to bemoan a series of individual errors for the heavy defeat to their league rivals, who've started the Isthmian League South Central season in fine form.
Marlow haven't made a bad start to the campaign themselves, with two wins to their name from four matches so far, and a much closer game was expected between these sides at Oak Tree Road.
As it was the Moles ran out comfortable winners thanks to goals from
Johnny Efedje (25'), Jonathan Denton (44'), Sean Moore (59') and Brandon Curtis (77')
It means Marlow have crashed out of two cup competitions in the space of 10 days after losing 1-0 to Uxbridge in the FA
Cup first qualifying round on September 3.
Bartley tweeted: “Crazy game today as we managed to shoot ourselves in the foot 3 times, and credit to Binfield who punished the mistakes.
“Whilst there are clearly things we aren't happy with, it was far from all bad. Our priority is to eradicate the concentration lapses that cost us.”
The Blues return to league action on Saturday when they're set to host Chipstead at Oak Tree Road.
