Council tax help survey
ROYAL BOROUGH: A consultation on a council tax reduction scheme in Windsor and Maidenhead is running until Friday, December 2.
Council tax reduction is a means-tested benefit that helps people on low incomes by reducing the amount of money they pay to the local authority.
Councils must decide each year whether to make any changes to the scheme. In the borough, it is proposed that the maximum level of discount for working-age recipients will remain at 80 per cent of their council tax bills.
The local authority is consulting on five changes which it says focus on simplifying administration and bringing the scheme in line with national changes to housing benefit. Visit www.rbwm.gov.uk/ consultations for details.
