ability and the emphasis is on enjoyment at this level, while adhering to the core principles of the game we love. It is especially heartening to see the youth teams play in this, our centenary year.”

As well as the players, parents, coaches, and supporters joined the crowds at the festival and enjoyed the hospitality of the club with a bar and a barbecue keeping people well fed and refreshed.

The festival is an annual event and a key date in the Maidenhead RFC calendar.

Money raised goes to support the youth teams at the club and this year’s festival was sponsored by St Piran’s, Copas Turkeys, Hawkinsport and Mad Dog Brewery Co.

The club is fully inclusive and always keen to welcome new players, whatever their ability for Sunday morning sessions.

Free trial sessions can be enjoyed before making the decision to join for the season.

The youth section of the club’s website (www.maidenheadrfc.co.uk) also contains contact details for coaches and Age Group Managers, each of whom will be happy to answer questions about the club and youth training.
